1 Spice & 3 Ingredient = Easy Detox Elixirs for Fast Winter Mornings

Expand your wellness journey —all you need for healthy glowing winter skin is a helping of spice based nutrient-rich fruits, nuts, and veggies. Each morning, and after feeding my mind through meditation, the next important step is to feed my body. Try some of my favorite winter elixir recipes bursting with flavors.



Cinnamon Mango Elixir

Curb your morning blood sugar by lowering insulin resistance through cinnamon!


Makes: 1

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh or frozen unsweetened mangoes

¾ cup nonfat or non-dairy milk or almond, soy, coconut

1 tbsp. Nirmala's Kitchen Ceylon Cinnamon

1 tsp. Ghee (optional)


Directions:

Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until smooth. You can add about four ice –cubes if needed. Transfer to serving glass, your morning commute mug, or gym bottle. Enjoy!

Nutmeg Coconut Elixir

Tastes like a Pina Colada!

It's vegan, dairy & gluten-free — with no added sugar.

Nutmeg soothes indigestion and strengthens cognitive function for that office meeting ahead.


Makes: 1


Ingredients:

3/4-cup coconut milk (almond or soy substitute)

1 teaspoon grated Nirmala's Kitchen Nutmeg

1-cup fresh baby spinach

1 cup frozen pineapple


Directions:

Add coconut milk, nutmeg, and spinach to blender.

Blend on high speed until completely smooth.

Add frozen pineapple and blend again until smooth.

Transfer to serving glass, your morning commute mug, or gym bottle.

Cardamom Cantaloupe Elixir

Not only for baking, this versatile pod aids in weight loss and improve your breathing and breath.


Makes: 1


Ingredients:

2 pods Nirmala's Kitchen Cardamom

¼ large cantaloupe, peeled and seeded, cut into large chunks

¼ cup of coconut milk

½ cup 1% fat cottage cheese


Directions:

Split pods of cardamom seed by slightly crushing with a soup can, discard the shell and transfer the tiny seeds to blender.

Add with remaining ingredients and process until smooth and creamy, about one minute.

You can add about four ice–cubes if needed. Cantaloupe can be frozen.

Transfer to serving glass, your morning commute mug, or gym bottle. Enjoy!
