Policy on Physical Products
Returns on Physical Products:
We take the utmost pride in each product sold by Nirmala's Kitchen. If you are not satisfied for any reason we are happy to accept your un-used items return within 14 days of purchase. Once the product/items are received in its original condition, store credit will be issued for the amount of the purchased product.
Order Processing and Shipping
We ship out of Highland, New York. Please allow 24 hours for order processing.
Orders shipping 2 Day Air and Next Day Air will be processed same day if placed by 11:00 am EST Monday-Friday. For Saturday deliveries, please email email@example.com. Saturday deliveries are an additional charge of $15.00.
Business Days are Monday – Friday, excluding major holidays. If you would like to inquire about a specific holiday and shipping available for expedited orders, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shipping rates are determined by the size of the order and the destination of the shipment. Additional shipping and handling may be added to orders over $1,000.00. Please inquire for larger orders.
Nirmala’s Kitchen ships all over the world. If you are interested in placing an order and would like us to ship overseas, we must warn you of the risks involved with shipping products internationally. Most of the time we ship overseas with success; however, on rare occasions products can be confiscated in customs and never returned to us nor arrive at their intended destination. Upon receipt of payment from you, we guarantee that your order will be processed and shipped to any address of your choice. However, in the event that your order is lost, stolen, damaged or confiscated while in transit internationally, we offer no refund or return policy. We have had many successful experiences shipping internationally, but you should be aware of the risks as you continue with your order.
To place an international order, please contact our customer service department at with your complete destination address, one of our staff members will contact you within forty-eight hours to provide you with accurate international shipping rates.

NIRMALA’S KITCHEN & FARMSTEAD COVID-19 UPDATE
We want to thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding as we have been navigating these time as a small business. It’s clients like you that have kept us in business and support our not-for-profit farmstead for over 18 years, creating memories, learning about cultures through food, and building lifelong skills in the kitchen and beyond.
We are excited to announce that we are open for Outdoor Cooking Classes!
While things may look a little different, we can’t wait to have you join us in the paddock overlooking the our historic red Dutch Barn for cooking classes, camps, parties, corporate events & more! Our current protocols regarding Covid-19 and how our classes and events work are listed below for you to check out.
We have also been working hard, continuing to offer private virtual classes and meal kits for pick up options if joining us in person is not yet the best choice for you and your family.
During these times, we have also extended date change of previously bought cooking classes for another year.
We are adding a few new cooking classes for the summer and even more for the fall. Our class sizes will be reduced to 50% capacity, which ends up being about 2-6 people per class or up to 6 family-friends members for our classes. We individualize as many of the cooking projects in each class as possible, where groups will be at a prep station with friends and family. Any food that is being prepared for the entire class will be handled by the Nirmala’s Kitchen staff.
Each family, couple, or individual person attending the class will have their own area to prepare food and eat.
Your food may be served on disposable paperware with disposable utensils. If non-disposable dishes are used, they will be cleaned and sanitized correctly by Nirmala’s Kitchen staff.
You may also bring your own knives, cutting board, and aprons; if not, we will provide these items.

Our Covid-19 Protocols
Please wait for a member of our staff to check you in before entering the cooking area. We ask for your patience in checking in class and event as we follow the current COVID-19 requirements, such as temperature checks and other guidelines.
SAFETY & SANITATION
With our new procedures to keep you and our staff healthy, we ask that you utilize our sanitation station at check-in and wash your hands upon entering the cooking area.
We ask you to maintain at least 6 feet from other guests whenever possible.
Our staff will be wearing masks at events, and you are welcome to wear one, although not required if you are in groups with family and friends from the same household.
We put our guests and staff’s safety first. If you or anyone in your household has any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, please be kind and stay at home.
Shipping & Class & Events Policy
Policy on Cooking Classes, Events & Cooking Class Gift Certificates
All classes, events and Gift Certificate sales are final. We do not offer refunds on purchased class or event tickets. Gift Certificates cannot be redeem as cash. If you are unable to attend a class or event and notify us at least one week (7 days) in advance, you may select another class of equal value within the following two months. Reservations for Cooking Class Gift Certificates are taken on a first come, or on a waiting list for next availability date , so you are encouraged to sign up early.
Need to know information and what to expect at our Cooking Class:
At the farm cooking school, there are no hard-to-find ingredients or strange cookware. Great cooking isn't about recipes—it's about the quality and nutrients of the ingredients and techniques. In our classes, you'll work together with other students in a fun, environment led by our professional chef instructors.
How long are the classes?
Classes are 2 hours unless otherwise noted above.
Hands-on prepping classes are limited to groups of 1-6 family, friends and individuals.
You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back.
We will supply aprons, and all cooking equipment/tools. However, if you prefer to use your own kitchen knife and apron, you are welcome to bring it.
You will enjoy a full sit-down meal at the end of class with your classmates.
Please bring empty containers to take home leftovers.
Students receive a coupon good for 10% off at our spice shop on purchases the day of class.
All recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please inform us at before attending the class.
Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.

All adult students must be 18+ years old. Students 14-17 years old are welcome to participate with an adult guardian or parent or check out our kids cooking camp classes held in the summer.
Can I bring my pets?
No pets allowed.
How will I get the recipes from my class?
Complete recipes from the class will be emailed to you after the class.

If you are driving to the event, directions from the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) are as follows:
Take Exit 18, New Paltz. Pass through the toll plaza to the traffic light. Turn right onto Route 299. Proceed through two traffic lights. At the second light by Lowe’s make a left, go one block to a stop sign, make a right.
We are less than a half-mile, look for white horse fence on the left. If you past the church you have gone too far.
Bus and Train Travel
Bus service is available on Adirondack Trailways to the New Paltz. Service departs from Port Authority in NYC, Albany Trailways, Route 17 in Ridgewood, NJ and locations in southern New York and Long Island. Trailways can be reached at 800-858-8555 and online at http://www.trailwaysny.com. Bus is 80 minutes from NYC.
Train service is available via Metro North and Amtrak trains to the Poughkeepsie Train Station, approximately 15 minutes away from Highland. From New York City, Metro North leaves from Grand Central and Amtrak leaves from Pennsylvania Station. Information is available at http://www.mta.info for Metro North, and http://www.amtrak.com for Amtrak trains. Train is 95 minutes from NYC.
