Guyanese Garam Masala

Garam Masala is the Indian word for a “hot” blend of dry-roasted ground spices. Garam masala comes from the Ayurvedic or Indian dietary philosophy, which recommends warm spices for warming the body. Garam masala can include cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, mace, and other spices. In authentic Indian cooking, it’s accompanied with curry powder for a more potent meal. Try using ours on roasted potatoes, omelets and fish.

Comes in our signature airtight tin, which measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches in height.

  • I've been making this Garam Masala spice blend since I was a five-year-old in my native Guyana. Nothing has changed for this spice blend. Today, when I make it at home, I still use a masala brick (grinding stone) which is over 150 years old, brought from India by my great-great-grandmother. Our Masala blend works wonders in mash potatoes, baked fries, add a teaspoon to green bean casserole or any of your favorite vegetable.

All of our herbs, spices, and combinations are the best way to add flavor to food for no extra calories, sugar, sodium, or other junk—which is critical to do when you're trying to lose weight or make that lifestyle shift towards wellness.

Why? It's pretty simple: Research shows that if you don't like the taste of what you eat, you're much less likely to stick to any diet, no matter how disciplined you are. Herbs and spices add a significant amount of flavor to food and can turn, for example, that piece of plain chicken or vegetable into a restaurant-worthy meal, thanks to just a little pinch and dash of herbs and spices.

All our whole spices and spice blends are Zero Sodium, No Salt, No Sugar, No MSG, No Preservatives, No Fillers and Gluten Free- no other crap in them but pure herbs, spices, and mindful loving.
