Malaysian Massaman Curry Powder
From my travels throughout Malaysia, and one of my favorite destinations.
I find that many of the Malaysian Massaman curry based are similar except with the added fresh ingredients, which add layers of unique flavors. From the mountainous north by the borders, the Muslim influence Massaman curries of this region are much thicker, with liberal amounts of coconut milk or cream. In central and southern cooking, more savory delights such as Khao Soi, a curry broth with egg noodles, chicken or beef seasoned with fresh ginger, tamarind and turmeric is a favorite amongst locals. Ook Gai, a red Massaman curry chicken or Beef with lemongrass and Star Anise is a must try.
Our Massaman curry blend is perfect for Beef Massaman and any of the curry based dishes above. Its also great on soups, stews, salads, scrambled eggs and more! Not too spicy, flavorful, and so delicious.
