Plant Based Single-Origin Spice
Carum carvi

Caraway is a hardy umbellifer native to Asia, Northern Africa, and Central Europe and is a biennial in the Apiaceae family.  The Romans used it with fish, vegetables and as a flavoring for soups, bean and cabbage dishes.

Caraway has a pungent aroma that, like the flavor, is warm and bittersweet, sharply spicy, with a note of dried orange peel and a slight but lingering hint of anise.

Caraway might aid in digestive problems including heartburn, bloating and gas and may also assist in weight loss. Chewing caraway seeds is a refreshing palate cleanser.

Comes in our signature airtight tin, which measures 3-1/2 inches in diameter and 2-3/4 inches in height.

  • Caraway is primarily used for rye and pumpernickel bread, cakes and sausages, and in Indian and Tunisian spice blends.

Caraway’s flavor is an excellent enhancement for gamey protein type meats such as duck, goose, and venison. Simmer in the Instant Pot or slow cooker with pork, apricots, and onions for an easy weeknight family meal.

Bake into whole wheat bread; melt into cheesy toppings over steamed vegetables. Like cardamom, caraway can add sweet warmth to coconut cookies, spice cakes and pies.

All of our herbs, spices, and blends are the best way to add flavor to food for no extra calories, sugar, sodium, or other junk—which is critical to do when you're trying to lose weight or make that lifestyle shift towards wellness.

Why? It's pretty simple: Research shows that if you don't like the taste of what you eat, you're much less likely to stick to any diet, no matter how disciplined you are. Herbs and spices add a significant amount of flavor to food and can turn, for example, that piece of plain chicken or vegetable into a restaurant-worthy meal, thanks to just a little pinch and dash of herbs and spices.

All our whole spices and spice blends are Zero Sodium, No Salt, No Sugar, No MSG, No Preservatives, No Fillers and Gluten Free- no other crap in them but pure herbs, spices, and mindful loving.
