Hand Crafted Spice Blend

Tunisian Spice Blend

Harissa is a fiery Tunisian blend, made predominantly made from hot chilies, an indispensable accompaniment to a wide variety of Tunisian foods. Mix one part of our harissa blend with two parts olive oil. (Adjust to create the consistency you desire.) Serve with crusty bread or pita bread, rice dishes and couscous. It is also an excellent substitute for mustard and mayonnaise on sandwiches. Or add a tablespoon or two to your mustard or mayonnaise to create delicious dips. Add our Tunisian Harissa to your favorite cheeses or olive oil for quick and easy dips. Use generously on pizza as a topping or as a dry rub on chicken.

  • On the dinner tables of almost every African country I visited, I saw many condiments, all laced with chilies.

While in Tunisian, I was invited to my driver’s home for lunch, in the city of Kairouan. He made a sandwich snack called cassecroûte, a freshly baked French bread stuffed with vegetables, olives, and boiled eggs, and laced with mouthwatering harissa.

After that addicting snack, I feasted on cassecroûte for the remainder of my travels in Tunisia. Finding pâtisserie, French-style cafés, is not a problem in Tunisia due to its former French occupation.

Some studies show that eating foods seasoned with chili pepper or black pepper can boost metabolism by up to 23%. When you eat a spicy dish, your body generates more heat, which, in turn, helps burn calories. So, spice up your chicken, shrimp, fish, stews, and tofu with our crafted Tunisian Harissa blend.

All of our herbs, spices, and blends are the best way to add flavor to food for no extra calories, sugar, sodium, or other junk—which is critical to do when you're trying to lose weight or make that lifestyle shift towards wellness.

Why? It's pretty simple: Research shows that if you don't like the taste of what you eat, you're much less likely to stick to any diet, no matter how disciplined you are. Herbs and spices add a significant amount of flavor to food and can turn, for example, that piece of plain chicken or vegetable into a restaurant-worthy meal, thanks to just a little pinch and dash of herbs and spices.

All our whole spices and spice blends are Zero Sodium, No Salt, No Sugar, No MSG, No Preservatives, No Fillers and Gluten Free- no other crap in them but pure herbs, spices and mindful loving.
